Volunteers Give Back During Community Clean-up Weekend at Lake Arrowhead Campground

May 2, 2026 — More than 75 volunteers of all ages gathered at Lake Arrowhead Campground on May 2 for a community-wide day of service dedicated to helping neighbors and supporting local food access efforts.

Volunteer teams spread out across the community to assist five residents who were unable to complete their yardwork due to age or disability. Crews worked throughout the morning raking leaves, sorting sticks, and cleaning up yards, and then Lake Arrowhead staff came out to suck up the leaves using our leaf sucker.

At the same time, another group of volunteers traveled to the Care & Share Food Bank to help prepare the organization’s vegetable garden for planting season. Their efforts will help provide fresh produce to local families served by the food bank throughout the summer months.

The event brought together more than 75 volunteers ranging from young children to senior citizens, highlighting the strong spirit of community service shared by participants of every generation.

As a thank-you for donating their time and energy, volunteers were treated to a free weekend of camping during a beautiful spring weekend. Lake Arrowhead Campground also provided a complimentary lunch and gave away door prizes to participants through a lakefront event in the afternoon.

Organizers would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who volunteered and helped make the day such a success. The kindness and hard work shown by the volunteers made a meaningful difference in the lives of many local residents and demonstrated the power of community working together.
