Gather the family, bring your appetite, and head to Lake Arrowhead Campground for the Puckaway Pigfest! This tasty two-day extravaganza, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, is a state championship competition and an event you won't want to miss. With all net proceeds benefiting the Marquette County Food Bank, you can indulge in delicious food while supporting a great cause.
Friday, September 6: Kickoff Events
The fun starts Friday evening with the Chili Cook-Off at 5:00PM. Enter your best chili for just $20, and all proceeds will go to the Care & Share Food Bank of Marquette County. Then, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, enjoy the People’s Choice Chili Tasting for $10, where you can sample and vote on your favorite chili. Winners of the Chili Cook-Off will receive cash prizes.
Don’t miss the Loaded Baked Potato Bar starting at 5:30 PM, offering a baked potato with all the delicious toppings for just $8.
From 6:00 to 10:00 PM, dance the night away at the DJ Dance, and test your endurance in the Steinholding Competition from 8:00 to 9:00 PM. Compete for a Lake Arrowhead sweatshirt and your stein, with a $5 suggested donation going to the food bank.
Raffle baskets and a 50/50 raffle will also be available throughout the evening, offering fun prizes and the chance to take home cash. Everything happening this evening benefits the Care & Share Food Bank of Marquette County.
Saturday, September 7: Family Fun and BBQ
Saturday kicks off with the Puckaway Pigfest Pop-up Market from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, featuring local vendors. If you’d like to sign up and sell, visit our website https://www.lakearrowheadcampground.com/pigfest. Cost for vending is a $20 donation to the food bank.
At 11:00 AM, the BBQ, Concessions, and Spray Paint Tie-Dye event begins, featuring mouthwatering BBQ, ice cream sundaes, and your chance to tie-dye a Puckaway Pigfest t-shirt.
Enjoy rounds of Bingo throughout the day, with $5 cards and cash prizes, all benefiting the bank. Must be 18 or older to purchase a bingo card.
From 2:00 to 4:00 PM, the LAC Super Train will be offering free rides, with donations welcomed. The Dessert Competition also kicks off at 2:00 PM— you can enter a dessert for $20, you can taste and vote for your favorite dessert with a $10 wristband, and you can even do both! Winners of Dessert Competition will receive cash prizes.
Also at 2pm, we’ll have some teams vending BBQ- stop up at the information booth to find out where!

The Puckaway Pigfest is more than just food and fun—it’s about giving back to the community. Admission and parking are free, with plenty of opportunities to support the Marquette County Food Bank through food donations, purchasing raffle tickets, and participating in events.
