At Lake Arrowhead and Lakeside Campgrounds, we believe camping is about more than just good times—it’s about community. This fall, our campers came together to support the Care & Share Food Bank of Marquette County, and the results were truly heartwarming!
Together, our campers and the camp store donated a total of 165 pounds of food to help local families in need. On top of that, we presented the food bank with a check for $1,800. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, this support couldn’t have come at a better time. The holidays are an especially busy time for local food banks, and every bit helps ensure that everyone in our community can enjoy a full table this season.
Our annual Puckaway Pigfest, a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Masters Series BBQ Competition, also played a major role in this effort—raising over $7,000 for the Care & Share Food Bank! And a special shoutout goes to the Mucky Pucky Boyz, a group of Lakeside Seasonal Campers who organized a t-shirt fundraiser and added another $600 to the total. That means that our camping community donated a total of $9,500 to our local food bank this year!
We’re so proud of what our Lake Arrowhead and Lakeside communities have accomplished together. Your generosity, teamwork, and big hearts continue to make a difference for our neighbors right here in Marquette County.
If you'd like to be part of next year's Puckaway Pigfest and help support this amazing organization, mark your calendars! Our BBQ Competition is always the weekend after Labor Day.
From all of us at Lake Arrowhead and Lakeside Campgrounds—thank you for helping spread kindness and support this Thanksgiving season. 💙🦃
