Join us for our upcoming community service event on May 4, 2024. We invite all members of the community to join us as we give back and make a positive impact together.
Volunteers will gather at Lake Arrowhead Campground to participate in various projects aimed at enhancing our local community. Volunteers will have two options for volunteer work. The first option is to do yard work for folks in need of assistance, as identified through the Aging and Disabilities Resource Center of Marquette County. Volunteers will be raking leaves, picking up sticks, and performing light yard work to support those who require assistance in maintaining their outdoor spaces. If you’d like to help us with yard work in the community, please meet at Lake Arrowhead Campground at 8am.
A second option Saturday morning, would be to assist in preparing the Community Garden for the Care & Share Food Bank of Marquette County. The Food Bank plays a crucial role in supporting families in need by providing food assistance to 100 families each week. To support their efforts, we will be laying down landscape fabric, mulching the garden beds, and ensuring they are ready for the growing season. If you are interested in helping in the Community Garden, feel free to meet us at the Care & Share Food Bank of Marquette County at 8:45am.
Volunteers can enjoy free camping May 3-5, or you are welcome to join us just for the day of volunteering! After the hard work is done, we’ll be serving free lunch on the shores of Lake Puckaway for all our campers and volunteers at 12:30pm on Saturday. Then folks can take a plunge into the cold water of Puckaway if they’d like to celebrate our new camping season!Â
Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to join us in this meaningful endeavor. Together, we can make a difference and contribute to the well-being of our community.
